Dr. Gerd Wolfram, Head of CIO-Office, METRO Group is in this central function responsible for IT Governence, IT Transparancy, IT Compliance and the alignment of the different IT systems and solutions for the whole METRO Group.

Since mid 2002 he has also been in charge of one of the most innovative projects of the Metro Group: The Future Store Initiative. With renowned partner companies this initiative drives the development of modern technologies and systems in the retail sector and offers a platform for testing under real-live conditions.

Dr. Gerd Wolfram is also member on national and international committees which promote the standardisation of logistics and merchandise management processes in retail in the context of radio frequency identification (RFID), for example EPCglobal and GS1 Germany.

 

Kim Björknäs, Process Development Manager, Wärtsilä has worked for Wärtsilä since 2007 in Supply Chain Development functions in Vaasa. He was part of the large logistics development project where Vaasa plant production capacity was doubled in 2008. As part of the manufacturing flow improvement, Kim lead the RFID automation project of the module buffer tracking 2009.

 
Timo Husso, Supply Chain Manager, Valtra has worked for Valtra since 2003 in Supply Chain Management. Since the last few years Timo´s team has implemented RFID as the latest process improving technology into inbound material processes.  
Janne Häkli, Research Scientist, VTT is working for sensors and wireless applications in VTT. He holds a Doctor in Science degree from Helsinki University of Technology (TKK) in Electrical Engineering. Prior to joining VTT in 2007 he worked at TKK in the Radio Laboratory since 1998 as Research Assistant (1998-1999), Researh engineer (1999-2007) and as a Project Manager (2005 - 2007). He has carried our research in antenna technology including antenna design and synthesis, and in antenna and radar cross section measurement technology development in several national and international projects. His current research interest include UHF RFID technology and applications. In 2007-2010 he has participated in the development of RFID technology solutions for the forest industry in the Indisputable Key project (EU FP6) and in the coordination of this development project.  

Kim Escherich is Execitive IT-architect and chief architect of the IBM Global Business Services Sensor Solutions focus area. He has been working several years in the area of RFID and sensoring. He have been programme architect at the Container Centralen RFID-project, one of the largest RFID-projects in Europe. He spcialises in complex solutions and works as an enterprise architect in connecting business and technology needs into solutions for IBM´s clients.

 
Tero Peltomäki ja Harri Lehtonen, Encore, have driven RFID technology based Supply Chain Management improvement for Encore Oy since 2003. The first system developed was a handheld RFID reader based tracking system for confidential material. Later fixed reader based automatic weighing stations were added to the process, and web based data sharing was introduced. The latest development is intra-factory recyclable and waste material tracking, that has significant benefits in waste source location and waste amount reduction.  

Sami Kalliokoski, Technology Manager, RFID Lab Finland ry has many years experience of automatic identification technologies. He has worked as RFID solution designer and also as responsible leader of many implementation projects.

In 2007-2008 he has worked as a Project Manager in RFID Lab project, which is actually a base for the RFID Lab Finland Associtation exisiting today. Now a days he is main responsible of Electria research unit  and also working as Technology Manager for RFID Lab Finland. Electria is part of the Metropolia University of Applied Sciences.

Sami Kalliokoski has implemented many wide-ranging RFID system- and product development projects and he owns a strong visionary know-how for RFID technology and for business. He has hold many lectures and educations about RFID technology.

Sami Kalliokoski has graduated from the Univeristy of Technology from Otaniemi (major of electronic and telecommunications) and holds the degree of Master of Science in Technology (M.Sc).

 

 
Panu Ala-Nikkola, Director, Business Unit Finland, Martela has the degree of Master of Economics. His main responsabilities in Martela are sales, production and logistics of Finland. He has worked in the company since 2001.  
Markus Rosendahl, CEO and founder of RDN Sofware Oy has developed innovative sales applications for many years. Having developed successfully modern business-to-business sales solutions for a clothing industry company Naisten Pukutehdas Oy, he decided to set up RDN Software, which in recent years have increased it´s market share in the field of applications development. As a pioneer in RFID-based store systems, Markus Rosendahl has to offer information on how to harness the store intelligence into unbeatable competitive tool. 
 
Jaakko Rytsölä, Entrepreneur has worked in IT-field more than 20 years. Within these years he has founded many companies such as Saunalahti (Finish teleoperator).
